Experience
I am a recent graduate of Auburn University with a degree in finance. I am working on my master's degree in finance at the University of Rochester. I love talking about finance, and this is without doubt my favorite subject. However, I also tutor algebra, business, microeconomics, and test preparation for the SAT and ACT. My previous tutoring experience has been unofficial, but I spent a lot of time in high school and college helping other students get through the coursework. I am good at making concepts clear to others. I feel that the textbooks usually present ideas in a way that is much more complicated than necessary. Rather than memorizing the way the material is explained in the book, I focus on helping students gain an in-depth understanding by approaching concepts in an intuitive way. I like to find simpler ways to explain what appears to be difficult. Outside of studying and tutoring, I spent as much time as I can playing basketball at the gym. I am also an avid football fan. I do some journalism work as a sports writer for a start-up website, writing about the Atlanta Falcons, New England Patriots, and Auburn Tigers.
