I have recieved "B's" in my first two years in my High School English classes, while finishing off my last two years with "A's", and recieving a grade of 93 on the English regents. In the past, I have helped other students understand how to become a great writer by helping them to determine the kind of writer they are. Often times, people, especially students, have a hard time finding their voice, and when they don't have a voice, they cannot translate it in any form written literature to the best of their abilities. Writing is not as complicated as most students make it out to be and I would love to help them understand how simple writing something like an essay can be! As far as math goes, I can help students up to 10th grade Geometry (this includes algebra 1). Growing up, I have always been a great math student, excelling in that subject for majority of my education career until the dreaded Trigonometry stumbled into my life, i'm sorry but that is such a tough course! I took Algebra in the 7th grade and Geometry in the 8th grade passing both regent exams in the process. In addition to that, I used to babysit a young elementary school student over the course of 3 years helping him with any homework problems that he struggled with in relations to Math and English until he moved away. While I was tutoring him, he did exceptionally well in those courses and was able to fully comprehend the material. Now, what would I bring to the table? For every subject I will bring a list of topics that the student(s) will go over and they will arrange the topics in order from the hardest to the easiest. In accordance to that, I will fully customize a schedule and lesson plans to accomendate everything that the student has chosen. On the last day of the week, the student(s) will then be quized on everything that was taught during that week to gauge the effectiveness of my tutoring and what information they were able to retained. At the end of each topic, there will be a test on everything that was taught in relations to that topic. There will be copies of all documents shared with the student for them to study and for your (the parent(s)/gaurdian(s)) records as well as my own. I look forward to helping brighting up the Future!
