Education
I have my B.A. in Classics (Latin and Ancient Greek), and my master's is in Adolescent Latin Education (7-12) and ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages), K-12. I have continued education in active Latin methodologies at the University of Massachusetts, Boston.
Experience
I currently teach 7th and 8th grade ESOL in Rochester. Previously I taught 6th - 8th grade Latin in Geneva. Before that, I taught Latin and ESOL at Young Women's College Prep Charter School of Rochester. I also taught ESOL to immigrants and refugees through ESOL Associates of Rochester and taught English as a Foreign Language in Brazil. I have tutored and have taught languages for years. I have tutored Latin from beginning to AP preparation. I have studied AP authors (Virgil, Catullus, Caesar) at length during my undergrad. I have taught English as a Foreign Language in Brazil, ranging from beginning to advanced and conversation classes. I have also taught beginning Portuguese one-on-one. I love languages more than anything, and know how hard they can be to learn. I struggled greatly during school to learn them, and have developed successful strategies as a result which I would love to pass on.
