Experience

Several years of tutoring experience with students of all ages for the Physics AP exam and other Physics Courses. My teaching methods aim to engage the student in what they are learning, in order to facilitate interest in the topic. Anyone who has taken physics knows that it can be very difficult at times to grasp the concepts. My goal is to teach the concept so that one understands and finds interest in them, then go on to master the mathematics behind the physics. If I am interested in why something worked the way it did, I would also be interested in how it worked. I have experience tutoring high school students with courses such as the Physics AP. Previously, I have developed study guides and study sessions for high school students that are preparing for their exams. 1-on-1 sessions are most common and prove to be most effective, nevertheless, I have done group study sessions for multiple students who are studying for the same exam. Skype sessions are available by request and can present a discount for saving me on transportation. I have had several students who really enjoyed the Skype sessions, especially with weekly meetings. This also works well for those who are far away. History: I have been a graduate student at the Rochester Institute of Technology pursing masters degrees in engineering, sustainability, and business to better understand how to bring some of my sustainable inventions into existence. I have been tutoring through university tutor since 2011 in a variety of courses ranging with students ranging from high school in the greater Rochester region to MCC, UR, RIT, and NAZ. At Wells College, I worked as a Physics teaching assistant for 3 years where I helped students with homework questions, set up laboratory experiments and assisted students with conducting the labs, graded homework and lab reports, and was the president of the Society of Physics Students in 2010.

Hobbies

My hobbies include: Recycling & Sustainable Activities; I worked as a Recycling Specialist for RIT where we changed the recycling system to Single Stream. I am passionate about recycling because when I was at Wells I collected enough of my own bottles in a year, that I built a boat out of them and sailed it on Earth Day 2010. I am writing a book "Waves of Life" which uses fundamental physics to explain how to achieve happiness and establish a personal meaning to life. - You should ask me about my book! - My goal in life is to answer any question that is presented to me. My book started when someone asked me what was the meaning of life. Otherwise, I play piano, study several martial arts, enjoying fishing, bike rides, and pretty much any activity that stimulates me mentally, physically, and spiritually.
